Do you think certain types of music are *gasp* evil? Why?
I don't think any are,but from what I ve heard some people think that modern music is "zomg bad!"
What about you?
Music????????
Music can lead you to be evil. Many bands have awful messages and lyrics. ACDC's guitarist, one of them, said that when he gets on stage and plays, it's not actualyl him who plays. Satan was good at music (he had many pipes) so maybe he still influences music heavily. Idk. THose are just my thoughts.
Reply:YOU say music evil and you want to quote scriptures, be specific and break it down . music does sooths the soul, calms a savage beast and there is rejoicing in some music. if you are weak you will fall weak. people get it right God created ALL things and that includes music. you think Report It
Reply:Yes, God did create all things. But he's not saying ALL music is evil, just some, like AC/DC. Keep in mind that there is Death Metal, Satanic Metal, Goth rock, etc. Some songs have bad messages. Not all music is bad. And I'm having trouble finding where it says in Ezikiel that Satan had many pipes. Report It
Reply:no music is evil some people say that but its not true. i listen to ozzy and all that, and I'm not evil i am perfectly sain Report It
Reply:like somone killed them self to tourte le monde because he misunderstood the song. it was written because a friend died in a bus accident. Report It
Reply:i listen to all sorts of music from jazz in the 40s to everything today, so i suppose to some people, music could appear to be evil, but then again there's also so much other music that appears to be good. so i think it's all pretty much based on perception. Report It
Reply:there is no way that any kind of music is evil! just because you listen to a certain type of music does not make you evil either.. if it ddid i would be pure evil right now! im not sure where you heard that but in my mind it is entirely false! is that enough of an answer for you?! Report It
Reply:Actually, Satan didn't play pipes, he played the "liar", I mean "lier". The "lier" is the guitar in todays language.
All music is a form of worship, it just depends on who the worship is directed towards. So it can be evil, but it can also be good. Report It
Reply:Yes, nothing that goes into a man can make him evil, only what come out of him. Yet, I think it can be influential in both ways. Report It
Reply:I agree with brightcloud.. Music is a gift, a passion, and an art. It is not evil- it has no intentions. Whatever happens to you when you listen to music is what you allow to happen. Report It
Reply:ok i think that if u think that a certain type of music is bad u should stay away from i have heard some nastey songs and im only 14 and i think that stuff is kool lol but music is a way of expression so whoever wrote it musta had a reaosn Report It
Reply:People are evil. Music is one of life's pleasures.
Reply:Spooky made an interesting point. Who makes music?
So it's what's in the heart of a person that's going to come out in the music.
Reply:If You're talking about the type of music/genre then i would say there's no evil music, even the modern one. Music/Art has Philosophy in it, it means it has a thought/concept, or we could say a purpose, so it's depends on the artist who made the art, what is his/her purpose...
While if you're talking about some song/artist/band/etc... well... there is some evil one, the one that declare that he/she is evil (ex. AC/DC = AntiChrist/DemonChild, KISS = Knight In Satan Service, Marlyn Manson) or one that don't understand about bad influence by music/any other media or even the one that disguised as a good one...
I'm not being superstitious, i'm talking by fact.
Any media could be a bad influence (more to children), even the one that was first made with a good purpose.
Example
1. (fact) There's a kid injured badly by running and hit himself to a concrit wall only because he watch Harry Potter;
2. (fact) a Baby almost die because his brother doing Smack Down on him,
So don't discriminates anything only by it's cover, Rock music is not bad even thou most of Rock band is not so good (in moral, etc.). But, you still should filter your music, because not all songs are made with good purpose...
Btw, I'm writing on this kind of thing for my bachelor thesis, so if anyone interested, you can contact me n_rue_7@yahoo.com
Reply:Well, not all music is bad. There are a few things you need to look at before deciding what music you want to listen to.
1)What's the message in the lyrics?
2)If played backwards, fast, slow, or any other way, would it have a bad message?
(Many people don't believe that. But take the song "stay fly" by 3/6 mafia and play it slow during the chorus part...it's praising the devil...you can also play an ozzy osbourne song backwards -- not sure which one -- and it also has a message in there)
3)Is this song good in God's eyes?
These are just a few things to consider. If you honestly don't care, then I just urge you to take a good look at #2 and check out that song I mentioned....I heard it played slowly, it gave me goosebumps...I will never listen to that band. They even admitted to be devil worshippers, so anyone who doesn't believe they are, are just playing themselves.
K, I hope that helped and answered your question.
God bless you.
Reply:Evil is an interesting concept. Do I think certain types of music are evil? Not persay - but I do think certain types of music are not good for a person. Music that inspires hatred and fear (Spinal Tap for example) don't really benefit the person who listens to it. I would rather here something more uplifting than people talking about their hoes and 40's and what not.
Reply:I'm a Christian, so I may not be as objective as you'd like, but...
I don't think any music that doesn't honor God is unbeneficial to a Christian. There are groups whose main purpose is to defame Christians %26amp; disparage God's name %26amp; purpose (we call them Satanic groups...)
However, when music is enjoyed for the purpose of entertainment, most anything that ISN'T against God should be fine.
My genre is Southern Gospel %26amp; older contemperary Christian music. But, I was raised on Def Lepard %26amp; Areosmith. I still like most of it, %26amp; I listen to Country, R %26amp; B, some rap, alot of classical, %26amp; ALOT of Kids Praize.
As a Christian, I have a responsibility to present an acceptable witness. That doesn't include bangin' bass %26amp; "garden tools, dogs, unlawful substances, %26amp; overindulgences..."
Reply:living in a household of metal music lovers ... i have to say ...
this is all nonsense
my family are all wonderful ... spiritual ... compassionate people
the music we listen to has no bearing on what type of people we are
